Student Assistant Sona Prabhakaran
Sona Prabhakaran is pursuing her PhD at the Department of Cultural and Religious History of South Asia. She holds an Integrated Master’s degree in Humanities and Social Sciences from IIT Madras and Aarhus University, Denmark. Prior to joining the South Asia Institute (SAI), she contributed to the Rural Education Action Program at Stanford University, focusing on evaluating the quality of engineering education in India. Additionally, she has participated in several ethnographic projects, including research on gender and internal migration in India, a study on miniature shrines in Chennai, and assessments of canal construction as well as the implementation of rehabilitation and resettlement policies in Madhya Pradesh.
